Miranda M., the 2023 Second Runner up Winner’s entry, “Don’t Be A Barry” stood out with its insightful inspiration and exceptional execution.
Miranda discovered the contest through an email from her subscription on the contest site. With strong encouragement from her sister, who is deeply involved in film projects, he decided to apply. The inspiration behind her short film came from the enlightening books by Sherry Turkle on technology and artificial intelligence. Her insightful writings sparked a compelling idea for the project.
After crafting the script, Miranda enlisted her husband to play the male role, and sought the help of her friend, Ember, who provided both her camera and valuable advice on framing and editing.
In an impressive feat, they set a personal challenge to write, film, and edit the piece in just one day!
