2016 Entry
I wrote a book in 5th grade, and my friends loved it. They were laughing and i loved every chance I got to show more people my work. At an early age I learned that people will hate you for no reason and that not everybody will like your work no matter how much you do. I wanted to be a comedian when I was younger, because I liked to make people laugh. However, as I grew older I learned that there are emotions than laughter and just being happy, and I wanted to experience them all. I wanted to share that there are people who go through every kind of emotion out there. I wanted to change people’s outlook on the “trolls” or “haters” of the internet. I want people to understand you cannot simply get rid of somebody’s opinion just because you don’t agree with it. If your video was viewed by everyone in the world, would you expect only positive feedback? Would you be happy about the amount of people seeing your message, or upset about how negative your feedback is?
If I could change one thing about the internet, I would change how people react to hate by keeping an ideal of positivity. I’ve seen personally how people react to these online “bullies” and want to change their outlook and show them that people are here to support them. However, I also want them to be strong and not be afraid to change their content because people might hate it.
